She is known as a strong lady in her political career, but it turned out, she has the same family struggles as many other people across the globe.

A wide array of females have infertility issues, and it inevitably takes a toll on them. Theresa May is one of such people, and she once got candid on the devastating struggle to have children.

In 2016, May spoke out for the first time about her and husband Philip's heartbreak at not being able to have kids.

The Home Secretary revealed it "affected" the married couple. In the most candid interview with The Mail On Sunday, the 63-year-old stated:

Of course, we were both affected by it. You see friends who now have grown-up children, but you accept the hand that life deals you. Sometimes things you wish had happened don't, or there are things you wish you'd been able to do, but can't.

Nonetheless, the Mays managed to cope with their deep sadness. She concluded that she and Philip drew comfort from their happy marriage and all the other things they were "blessed with."

The couple met at Oxford University, though Mrs. May was two years above her husband. They wed in 1980 and managed to support each other through thick and thin.
