Always Ready To Help Our Planet! Leonardo DiCaprio’s Environmental Organisation Donates $5Million To Help Fight Amazon Fires

Amazon has been on fire for more than two weeks, and the flames are visible from space.

This disaster has caused widespread pain and concern around the world.

Lawmakers, environmentalists, and even celebrities are deeply concerned about the outcome of this natural disaster.

This year has recorded the highest amount of fires in Brazil. The rates are up 85% from last year.

The nation's space research center has recorded 80,000 fires just this year.

Leonardo to the rescue!

Famous actor Leonardo DiCaprio has again proved that he is all for mother nature! The ‘Titanic’ star made a massive contribution to aiding lives in the Amazon environs.

His environmental preservation organization, Earth Alliance, launched an emergency Amazon fund on Sunday aimed at supporting local indigenes of the Amazon.

The organization has donated $5 million to this project.

The funds will be shared among five different local organizations, which are:

  • Instituto Associacao Floresta Protegida (Kayapo),
  • Coordination of the Indigenous Organizations of the Brazilian Amazon (COIAB),
  • Instituto Kabu (Kayapo),
  • Instituto Raoni (Kayapo) and
  • Instituto Socioambiental (ISA).

Earth Alliance is a climate change foundation that was founded by DiCaprio, Laurene Powell Jobs, and Brian Sheth in July.

The 44-year-old also took to social media to raise awareness and encourage other stars to donate.

A little spark has set off a fire

Leonardo’s contribution has inspired more people all over the world to also donate to the devastating incident in the Amazon.

The indigenes also appreciate all the help coming their way,
