The SLOFD confirmed on Twitter that the passenger bus was carrying the road crew of Josh Turner.

The crew were traveling eastbound after finishing a concert at the Vina Robles Amphitheatre in Paso Robles the night before, when the accident occurred. They were headed to a concert scheduled for Friday night in Washington. The bus veered off the road and into a ditch.

Two of the eight people on board were ejected from the bus upon impact, killing one. Two of the seriously injured were airlifted to hospital, while the remaining five were transported there via ambulance.

Firefighters had to cut one person from the bus using the jaws of life, while they also had to set up a mechanical rope system to extract the injured from the bottom of the cliff.

According to NBC, drugs or alcohol have both been ruled out as possible causes for the crash, but they are looking into any medical issues that may have been a factor.

Neither the country and gospel singer or his band were aboard the bus, the musicians were traveling separately.
