Charlize Theron Has Been Single For 10 Years And "Never Wanted To Get Married", But Fans Support Her Decision

Charlize Theron is the gorgeous Oscar-winner who no doubt has plenty of men swooning at her feet .But the actress, 44, has declared she has been "single for years" as she took a break from relationships after adopting her two children, Jackson and August.

"I've been single for 10 years, it's not a long shot,"

- Theron told "Entertainment Tonight."

Her last serious relationship was with Sean Penn. The two were engaged but split in 2015.

"We were in a relationship and then it didn't work anymore. And we both decided to separate."

The woman intimted that she "never wanted to get married":

“I haven’t been in a relationship for a very long time. I never wanted to get married,”

But now it seems that everything has changed and Charlize Theron is ready for new relationships and her heart is open for love. The actress said her ideal man would have a 'good beard' and can 'make her laugh'.

'I'm starting to open myself up emotionally to perhaps finding the love of my life.'

Although Charlize Theron has never been married it looks like marriage is something she simply doesn't need. The woman is all about her children and career. Maybe it's due to her painful split with Sean Penn or maybe it's just the way she feels about her life. No matter what, Charlize still wants to love and be loved.

People could not help but support their favorite actress as they agree that you don't have to be married to be happy:

"15 years since my divorce and I've been extremely happy being alone. But, I'm ready to be married again. You have to love yourself, know yourself and be happy with you before you can be happy with someone else"

- one woman wrote, while another added:

" I understand where she's coming from. I'm 28 and was in a relationship for almost 10 years and I'm perfectly happy with being in a non committed relationship"

Other users agreeing noted:

"She’s gorgeous and talented, she has kids...She doesn’t need to be married"

"You don't have to be married to be happy."

Well...Good for her! Ultimately, there's no right or wrong way of dating when you're a single mama. There is no rule that demands to marry someone to feel happy. She - and any single mom - should go with whatever timing and boundaries feel right to her. When the time is right Theron will find what she needs in this life.
