The Star Wars actor, who suffered a heart attack before she was put on life support, was known for her honesty about her life, especially her openness about mental health.

Monday 21 would have been Carrie Fisher’s 63rd birthday and her lovely daughter Billie Lourd paid her a heartwarming musical tribute.

Carrie Fisher’s daughter Billie Lourd, who’s an actress, celebrated her mom’s birthday in style by performing one of her favorite songs, Tom Petty’s American Girl. The performance, which was posted to her Instagram and Instagram TV profile, Lourd heartfully sang the tribute with assistance from two musicians.

Growing up, Billie was incredibly close to her star mommy and their close bond was an open secret. In her caption, Billie reminisced the lovely times they shared together.

Today would have been my Momby’s 63rd birthday… So here’s a little video of me singing one of her favorite songs (American girl by Tom petty) in one of her favorite places (her bathtub of course).

Carrie, who was popular for her love of the arts would have loved the performance, which was the second time Billie celebrated her memory, musically.
