David Foster Had His First Child At 20 But Gave Her Up For Adoption, He Reconnected With Her 30 Years Later

Date August 16, 2019

David Foster is a famous and talented musician whose family life is thriving almost as much as his professional life.

Wives and kids

Foster has a pretty big family. He has been married five times and has five biological daughters plus seven grandchildren.

His marriages were to singer B.J Cook, Rebecca Dyer, Linda Thompson, Yolanda Hadid and he wedded Katharine McPhee in June 2019.

Father-daughter reunion

In 1970, a then 20-year-old David Foster welcomed his first child Allison Jones Foster. However, he placed her for adoption and the pair didn't reconnect until when she was 30.

The identity of her mother is still unknown to the press but since reuniting with his daughter, Allison did not only become a part of the big Foster family, but also the director and secretary to the board of her father's company, The David Foster Foundation.

So while she may not have had the first 29 years of her life with her birth parents, she and her biological father ended up mending fences and Allison has now become a big sister to all of Foster's kids.

Allison is also half-siblings to Foster's stepchildren including Brody and Brandon Jenner who are Linda Thompson's sons with Bruce Jenner.

More kids

Well into his 60s, one might think David Foster is done having children. However, US Magazine has reported that his most recent wife Katharine, would like to have children with him.

The American Idol alum reportedly told stepdaughters Erin and Sara Foster that she would like to have her own children, and the young ladies understood and supported her.

So could there be another little Foster on the way? Only time will tell.
