In a country where the justice system is seeing as harsh and unfeeling, Judge Frank Caprio has proven to be a rare gem.

An internet sensation

The 82-year-old judge has increasingly become a viral sensation as he continues to win hearts for the compassionate justice he dishes out in the courtroom. His show Caught In Providence has been a hit for years.

He is approached by people who have been ticketed in the city of Providence and he decides whether to rule that they pay the fine or let them go.

Videos of the kindhearted judge have been receiving millions of views online.

Caprio told NBC News that he believed he became viral because people have lost faith in the government.

I think I should take into consideration whether somebody is sick and whether their mother died and whether they have kids who are starving. I don't wear a badge under my robe. I wear a heart under my robe.

Wife and kids

In an interview with the DailyMail, Caprio once shared that he was inspired to be kind-hearted and compassionate by his father.

His dad was an immigrant from Italy who worked as a milkman. Despite the fact that the family struggled financially, Frank's dad would pay milk bills for customers who fell behind.

In the video interview, he said that his father's message resonated with him. And several decades later, he is sharing this message, not just with his family but with the world.

Caprio has been married to his Joyce for over 50 years and they are parents to five children - Frank T, David, Marissa, John, and Paul.

Judge Frank Caprio is a grandfather and great-grandfather as well.

Following Dad's footsteps

It looks like Frank has an influence on his children.

His son David is an attorney while Frank T is a former Rhode Island State Treasurer. David also happens to be the Rhode Island State Representative from District 34.

Judge Frank Caprio proves that even small acts of kindness can completely change the lives of others. What a hero!
