Dr. Oz is all about helping people with health issues. Unfortunately, when one came within his abode, he didn't recognize it until it was too late.

According to Dr. Oz, here are six early signs of Alzheimer's never to ignore

  • facing challenges in planning;
  • experiencing difficulty in completing tasks;
  • confusing time and place;

  • having problems with words;
  • misplacing things and losing the ability to retrace one's steps;
  • having troubles understanding visuals.

Dr. Oz missed the signs for his mom

Recently, Dr. Oz's mom was diagnosed with Alzheimer's, and for someone of his caliber, it felt strange that he didn't get to know of it until it was late.

While speaking on the 'Today' show, the health expert confessed that he felt guilty for not recognizing it in time.

"Because we didn't tell each other the truth in my family, it delayed everything."

Oz confessed that he noticed that his mom became more stubborn in recent times, but he didn't pay so much attention to it, because he couldn't come to terms with losing his mom.

"It's a chameleon of a disease. It's slippery, and you don't want to admit it because it's too painful. The idea that you would lose."

He also revealed that the shocking revelation of his mother's diagnosis scares him big time about his health.

As a result, he got tested for his risk of developing Alzheimer's, and it was revealed that he carries one of the genes for the disease.

Luckily, he also carries a protective gene for the disease. Our hearts go out to Dr. Oz and his family during this tough time.
