Date September 11, 2019 16:47

Singer Chris Cornell passed away in May 2017 after he was found unconscious in the bathroom of his hotel room after a performance.

It was revealed that Cornell took his life by hanging and toxicology reports showed prescription medications in his blood at the time of his death.

Chris had three kids from two marriages. He was married to Susan Silver from 1990 to 2004, and they welcomed a daughter named Lilian Jean.

The year of his divorce from Susan, the lead vocalist of ‘Soundgarden’ tied the knot with Vicky Karayiannis. They were together until his demise, and they had two children together.

Family feud

Cornell’s widow and ex-wife are not seeing eye-to-eye when it comes to the child support Chris owes Susan.

As reported by The Blast, Susan has sued Vicky and her ex-husband estate for not paying up on child support obligations.

It was reported that when Susan and Cornell divorced in 2004, they reached a settlement of $5,000 per month in child support. Also, the singer agreed to cover their daughter’s education costs until college.

Susan accuses Vicky of not paying up as her daughter Lilian is “attending college and incurring expenses associated with her post-secondary education.” Also, Lilian has “ongoing health insurance needs and related expenses.”

However, it seems Vicky isn’t yielding to Susan’s request as she has dismissed the lawsuit calling it a “publicity stunt.”

Another family rift

Susan and Vicky are also knee-deep in a battle about who is entitled to a cut of the late singer $20 million estate.

According to reports, Vicky lists herself as the sole beneficiary of the estate, but Susan disagrees and demands she and her daughter should get a share too.

Things don’t seem to be getting easy between Cornell’s ex-wife and widow. Hopefully, time sorts it out.
