Barack Obama Reportedly Cheated On Michelle With His Ex At The Beginning Of Their Relationship, Biographer Claims

Date September 30, 2019

Michelle and Barack’s love story is one that has defied the odds of relationships in the past decades.

Since meeting in a law firm in 1989, the former first couple has ridden on the waves of love for almost three decades.

On October 3, 2018, Barack and Michelle celebrated their 26th wedding anniversary and exchanged heartfelt tributes on social media.

However, before Michelle and Barack became the power couple that they are now, the former POTUS has a significant other in his life.

Barack cheated on Michelle with his ex

According to Biographer David J. Garrow in his book, ‘Rising Star,’ Barack dated Sheila Miyoshi Jager in his early 20s.

Their relationship was growing strong, and the former president asked proposed to her. However, Sheila said not yet because her parents were opposed to their union.

When Barack became conscious about pursuing his political career, he left Chicago to go to Harvard Law School. At the time, Garrow recalls that his relationship with Jager was falling apart, however, that didn’t stop him from asking her to marry him again

Unfortunately, Sheila believed the proposal was mostly “out of a sense of desperation over our eventual parting,” so the duo parted ways.

Barack met Michelle after his first year of law school at a law firm where she was his mentor. In no time, things got pretty heated between them, and they began dating.

However, Jager wasn’t entirely out of the picture as she and Barack kicked things off when she arrived at Harvard on a teaching fellowship.

Garrow wrote:

“Barack and Jager had continued to see each other irregularly throughout the 1990-91 academic year, notwithstanding the deepening of Barack’s relationship with Michelle Robinson.”

There were times Michelle wanted to leave

Like most marriages, Michelle and Obama had their down moments.

While speaking to PEOPLE, the former FLOTUS revealed that she and Barack had to see a couple’s counselor as there were times she wanted to leave.

“There were definitely times when I wished things were different. But I don’t think I ever thought, ‘I’m just checking out of this.”

Despite the challenges Michelle and Barack have faced, they have managed to make their love a priority, and that is what makes them an applaudable couple.
