Victoria Beckham Criticized For Letting 8-Year-Old Daughter Hang Out With Too-Thin 'Zombie' Models: "She's Going To Have Body Image Issues"

Date September 17, 2019

Designer Victoria Beckham recently unveiled her spring/summer show in Westminster which featured a dress-focused collection.

She proudly showed off some of the fabulous designs she has been working on as models walked the runway in block shades like bold green and fuchsia. Some of the outfits featured flirty ruffle trim and elegant waist.

She reportedly confirmed that her "key focus" is "the dress" as this is a "core part" of her brand.

Family affair

The designer's family was there to offer their support as David Beckham and their four kids showed up during the debut of SS2020 collection at London Fashion Week.

Proud husband David Beckham shared a selfie on Instagram and fans could see all four of the couple's children sitting front row at the show, ready to applaud their mom.

In the caption, David wrote that there was "a lot of love" for the mom and expressed how proud the family was of Victoria's work,

Their kids Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz, and Harper all seemed to be having a good time.

Bad influence on Harper

Victoria Beckham herself also posted some pictures of her youngest child Harper hanging out with some models at the event.

The eight-year-old girl had a big smile on her face as she posed with some of the ladies but fans were worried she was being surrounded by the wrong kinds of influence.

Mom Victoria faced social media backlash as a result and people also commented about how thin some of her models were. @chenel1490 wrote:

Hard to watch.

Another commenter @concharsammy said:

Not a healthy body image for a young girl to be mixing with.

@roter134 agreed:

She's going to have enough body image issues just comparing herself to Victoria.

@beasansam had a problem with the models' feelings in this situation.

By their faces I can say that the models don’t look very excited...Forced to be photographed with the boss’ s daughter? So unnatural...

@s_j_mckeown wanted Harper to have a different type of influence:

I think she needs a day surrounded by normal-sized women.

@fosta89 worried about Harper too.

It's good that harper is enjoying the event, but I do hope she doesn't aspire to be like these models they look ill! Maybe one day VB you will design and model some more natural ladies.

@all_sandy wanted Victoria to try for some diversity.

Love your clothing line I just wish you would show more curvy women. There are so many beautiful women of all sizes! Not everyone is a zero or a 2.

@jilllaws had an advice for Harper.

Don’t go the way of these models Harper. Flesh is not to be feared !!!

Do you agree that Harper's proximity to these ladies could lead to body image issues for the young girl?
