Greta Thunberg and her works

Greta is a Swedish teenager who is a vibrant environmental activist on climate change. She gained prominence in 2018 when she spent her school days protesting outside the Swedish Parliament for stronger action on global warming.

Her actions garnered attention, and in no time, other school students joined in the protest. Her outspoken and blunt nature has earned her numerous awards and recognitions.

She was named one of the 100 most influential people of 2019 by Time Magazine and was granted a fellowship into the Royal Scottish Geographical Society.

Last month, Greta was invited to speak at the UN Climate Action Summit in New York, and she gave a moving speech that reprimanded world leaders of ignoring science when it comes to climate change.

Thunberg’s good works have, however, not gone unnoticed by the Norwegian Nobel Committee.

To make things more special, the nomination came on the eve of her most significant stroke, which involved school students across the world marching for climate change in 1659 places across 105 countries.

Not only that, if Greta bags the award, she will be the youngest person to receive a Nobel Prize. How amazing!

Who is the youngest Nobel Prize winner to date?

She bagged the award in 2014 when she was just 17 years old for her work in human rights advocacy, especially the education of women and girls in her native home in Pakistan.
