Jane Fonda Mourns Her Brother Peter Fonda In An Emotional Post And Disclosed That They Were Together In His Final Days: "We Were Reunited."

The world lost Hollywood icon Peter Fonda on August 16. According to People, Peter died of respiratory failure due to lung cancer.

His family shared the sad news via a statement and asked that the world respects their privacy.

Peter is the son of Henry Fonda and younger brother to Jane Fonda. The family of the two-time Oscar-nominee was with him in Los Angeles when he kicked the bucket.

A heartwarming tribute

A day after her brother died, Jane took to Facebook to pay a lovely tribute to him. The actress Jane revealed via her post that she and her late brother reconciled before he passed away.

In the post, she explained that she was glad that she got the chance to be together.

"I feel so grateful that in the last weeks, days, hours we were reunited and experienced healing of the heart."

The 81-year-old added that although the disease damaged his lungs, the state of his kind heart was preserved. She ended the writeup by pointing out the effect their love had on her:

"Now, in his absence, I am able to conjure his beautiful dear essence more vividly than ever, and it lifts my own heart. Thank you, Peter."

I'm glad you got to spend time with him in his last weeks and that you'll have these memories to treasure."

"Snow I worked as an extra on a movie set back in the '80s in Texas with him. I got to spend a lot of time with Peter. All the people working on the set loved your brother. Peter was so kind and gracious. He sat with the extras and crew at lunch and told amazing stories. He was one in a million- talent, good looks, and an amazing energy. I will never forget him. I'm sorry for your loss, Ms. Fonda."
