Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner are something of a power couple. They are both senior advisers to US President Donald Trump, which makes them two of the most influential people in America.

The pair met back in 2007 at networking event organized by Donald’s business partner. Ivanka and Jared jumped into dating rather fast but some serious problems in their relationship emerged early on.

The couple split up a year after dating and it is believed that Kushner’s parents were involved in the breakup.

According to a new 2019 book titled Kushner Inc, Jared’s parents didn’t accept Ivanka at first. They were even partially responsible for the couple’s brief breakup.

The biggest concern laid in religion. It was important for Seryl and Charlie that their son would marry a Jewish woman, which Trump wasn’t.

The Kushners were ‘horrified’ by Jared’s choice and ‘refused to meet’ Ivanka. It was said:

Seryl and Charlie were dismayed at the idea of their son marrying outside the faith. The idea was particularly offensive to Seryl, who had raised the children.

Despite that, Ivanka managed to win her now-husband parents’ hearts and they accepted her into their family. The blonde beauty wasn’t the only one who struggled with the in-laws. Seryl and Charlie refused to meet their second son’s girlfriend, model Karlie Kloss, for 6 years.

Only when Kloss converted to Judaism they agreed to get introduced to her and allowed the model to marry their son. What can we say, different families – different rules?
