A little over 2 months ago, All My Children star and Hallmark Channel host Cameron Mathison opened up about his cancer battle.

Mathison's health gave him a real scare when MRI showed a tumor on his right kidney, which required urgent surgery. Cameron has been candid about his journey and updating his worried fans every step of the way.

How is Cameron Mathison doing today?

In an interview with Closer Weekly, the 50-year-old actor gave a very promising update on his health. Cameron revealed that he's feeling much better and almost back to his usual self:

I still feel tired, but I’m almost physically back to being 100 percent.

Mathison credits his wife's support and is incredibly grateful to his fans who reached out to him during this difficult time:

I could not believe the incredible kindness. Sometimes while reading those cards I literally would break down into uncontrollable crying. It felt bizarre feeling so connected to people I don’t know, but it was also very powerful and comforting.

The Home & Family host believes it's his gut feeling that saved his life. Before finding out about his illness, Mathison had been struggling with indigestion and insisted that doctors look into what's bothering him.

Cameron believes everyone must be mindful of the signs in their life, as it's better to be safe than sorry.
