The 59-year-old Notting Hill star once revealed to ExtraTV that his and Ritchie's dads used to serve together in military:

His dad was a great friend of my father's in the army. His father, who was quite a character, once tried to get through the porthole of a ship naked, and it was my father who had to pull him out.

What an incredible coincidence!

This year, in honor of Remembrance day, Hugh and Guy got together to pay a special tribute to their fathers.

The British celebs joined forces this Remembrance day and posed together to recreate the photo of their dads serving in Singapore from 65 years ago! Ritchie posted the original and the remake snaps in his Instagram, and added a bit of a story for the two photos:

This first picture was taken 65 years ago in Singapore where my dad — Captain John Ritchie — and Hugh Grant’s dad —Captain James Grant — were stationed in the same regiment, the Seaforth Highlanders.

Guy continued:

The second picture — taken on a film set in London 65 years later, has one grandson and two sons recreating that original image.

There's so much history in these photos. And what's even more incredible, Hugh and Guy found out that their production assistant Rory Gibb's grandad was also on the photo with their fathers and invited Rory (the one on the very left with a mustache) to join them!
