"'Spirit Of America' Is Shining In The White House!": Melania Trump Has Prepared Incredible Christmas Decorations At Home

Date December 3, 2019

Donald and Melania Trump’s Christmas in the White House is always full of festive vibes. However, last year, FLOTUS’ Christmas decorations faced a lot of criticism — they even became horror memes in the US.

Melania Trump reportedly spent months working on the 2018 year’s decorations, and they all were in vibrant red colors. Lots of people compared her Christmas design with horror movies and even some bloody things.

This year, Melania Trump ditched all too controversial and bright red colors for the theme of patriotism. Her ‘Spirit of America’ design features trees and wreaths, along with decorations adorned with ornaments portraying stripes and stars, the American flag, and, in the East Room, trees topped with giant, golden eagles.

On Sunday night, returning from a festive weekend in Florida to celebrate Thanksgiving, FLOTUS made a final walk-through at the White House, checking details of the decorations, which had been installed while she was out of the city.

On Monday morning, the 49-year-old tweeted:

'The Spirit of America' is shining in the White House! I am delighted to share this beautiful exhibit of patriotism for all to see and excited for everyone to experience the beauty of the #Christmas season!

There are standard yearly decorations, such as the creche in the East Room, a remnant from the 16th century with figurines made in Italy, this year on display for the 52nd year in a row.
