Joan Lunden is a heavyweight of American journalism. She previously hailed Good Morning America from 1980 to 1997 and practically bringing it to the peak of its popularity in the 90s.

Lunden later worked as a host for Retirement Living TV and as of 2014, she's a special correspondent for Today Show. While the famous reporter's professional achievements are obvious, what do we know about her personal life?

Joan Lunden's first failed marriage

Lunden married her first husband, TV producer Michael A. Krauss, in 1978 after dating for several years. The couple had three daughters together: Jamie, Lindsay, and Sarah.

But after 14 years, Joan and Michael's marriage reached its end and they divorced in 1992.

How Joan rediscovered love at 50

In 2000, former Good Morning America host married Jeff Konigsberg, the owner of Camp Takajo. Joan was 50 at the time, but it's never too late for love.

After 3 years of being married, Joan and Jeff had two sets of twins together Jack, Kim, Kate, and Max, all born with the help of a surrogate. Joan was 54 at the time their first twins were born.

Joan became a spokesman for surrogacy and an inspiration for women over 50.
