Long-time journalist Tamron Hall is finally opening up about her exit from NBC after her 10-year contract ended.

Tamron Hall’s exit from the Today show

Back in February 2017, Tamron lost her time slot co-anchoring Today show to journalist Megyn Kelly. She decided to leave NBC when her 10-year contract expired. The network announced her departure days after failed negotiations.

Hall commenting on her departure in a statement released through NBC said:

The last ten years have been beyond anything I could have imagined, and I'm grateful. I'm also very excited about the next chapter. To all my great colleagues, I will miss you and I will be rooting for you.

On Saturday, the mother of one recalled what went into her decision to walk away from the network after she her time slot co-anchoring Today show was removed.

During an appearance at the 2019 Vulture Festival on Saturday, the Tamron Hall host described the experience at that time as “painful, but survivable.” She said: “They wanted something that wasn’t me."

Though Tamron was offered a chance to remain at NBC in another role, the journalist, however, chose to walk away. The mother of one explained:

It wasn’t that I did not know my value. It’s that others did not know my value. It was an easy decision, because there was no other decision to make.

Meanwhile, Tamron is feeling fine now as has made her return to TV with her own self-titled talk show. Her return was absolutely worth the wait!

Hall's new show premiered on ABC network on September 9. This syndicated program is aimed at "inspiration" in the darkest times throughout a lifetime.

We are thrilled for Tamron Hall, best wishes to her!
