Tim McGraw’s fitness has been making headlines. Recently the music star surprised fans with a photo of his ripped physique after the success of his weight loss.

The country singer's impressive 40-pound weight loss is proof that his workout plan and diet worked. Tim who once rocked a beer belly got into shape using Cross Fit workouts, functional training, and a Paleo diet.

Back in 2008, he started his exercise plan. His workout routine designed by martial arts expert and trainer, Roger Yuan includes cardio and weight training.

Tim continues to celebrate the success of his continued fitness journey. Looks like the country superstar is looking than ever.

On Sunday, the father of three shared a photo of himself at the gym on Instagram. In the post, the singer talked about how he got into the best shape of his life. He wrote:

Miss that moment, and you’ll live the rest of your life wondering just how much of your potential never played out. That’s when I decided to go from being in good shape to being in the best shape of my life.

In his new book Grit & Grace: Train the Mind, Train the Body, Own Your Life, Tim shared his 10-year transformation story. Speaking to PEOPLE, about his journey he said:

My mind is clearer, my sense of purpose is sharper, and my relationships are deeper. Consistent physical exercise helps me bring focus to my life and to the people who mean the most to me.
