Alicia Keys sold over 30 million records and can boast not one not two but 15 Grammys in total. Yet, it’s her family that she’s the most proud of in her life.

The singer revealed that before giving birth, she used to be ‘more influenced’ by others and didn’t have a lot of clarity in life. But now Alicia Keys’ child takes all of her free time and she’s happy about it.

Alicia Keys’ son

Alicia Keys took to her social media to share a story about her 4-year-old son, Genesis. She talked about the time when she brought her little boy to a nail salon with her because he wanted to paint his nails in rainbow colors.

Keys shared:

He tells the lady that he wants rainbow colors on his nails. And she brings all of these colors and she paints each nail a different color.

However, soon after, Genesis asked to take the nail polish off and when Alicia inquired why, the boy explained he was ‘afraid that people ‘not gonna like it.’

The 38-year-old recalled:

Can you believe this? He’s four and he already understands the concept that someone is gonna judge him because he chose rainbow colors on his nails.

Keys assured him that boys paint nails all the time and it doesn’t matter what other people say. However, some social media think that the boy is right.

Social media’s reactions

@hitmakadc:

No guys dont paint their nails unless their gay..dont do that to that kid

@bombsheezy:

To each his own. I personally couldn't condone it for my Son. I would raise him to be a man, a masculine man and there's nothing wrong with that either.

@leazzy:

I love u but your wrong and that’s why we have Women and man you’re teaching your son a feminine trait I get the open mine con sept but you don’t get the essence of humanity if he’s worn feminine is one thing but taught feminine is another

@djinquisit:

His true authentic self is a boy a man. This society specializes in feminizing black Men. I can't imagine DMX or Jadakiss telling boys back in the days to wear rainbow color nail polish

No matter what society we live in, some people will be for stereotypical ideas and others will be against them. We just have to learn how to let others do whatever they want to do with their looks without judgment, even if we don’t agree with them.
