Matt Damon and Ben Affleck’s bromance has spanned over three decades and they are not showing signs of slowing down. This comes as no surprise because the duo have maintained a stable relationship since they were kids.

Over the years, Damon and Affleck continued to remain BFFs as both of their careers took off. The actors have had the opportunity of co-starring in hit movies such as School Ties, Glory Daze, Chasing Amy, Dogma, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, The Third Wheel, and Jersey Girl.

Childhood friends

The Jason Bourne star is opening up about how he grew up with his best friend, fellow actor Ben Affleck. Matt and Ben helped each other find success in Hollywood.

The duo rose to fame when they co-starred in Good Will Hunting. As it turns out, their friendship began way back when Damon was just 10 years old. This friendship lead them to influence each other at a significant time in their childhood.

In an interview with ET, the father of three revealed:

I’ve known him for 35 years, and we grew up together. We were both in love with the same thing – acting and filmmaking. I think we fed on each other’s obsession during really formative, important years and that bonded us for life.

Matt also gushed about Ben’s talents as a director. The actor added that he gladly take a role in Affleck’s next project.

Having each other’s back

Ben once stopped Matt from getting beaten up in school. During an interview, Damon recalled the last fight he was in, and shared how his BFF came to the rescue.

Damon had run his mouth a bit too much during a game to the wrong kid. As the fight started, Ben came to save him sparking the beginning of their long friendship.
