"It Completely Blocked My Vision": Savannah Guthrie Temporarily Loses Her Eyesight After An Accident With Her Son's Toy

Date November 28, 2019 14:52

Savannah Guthrie's family seems idyllic now as she and her husband, Michael Feldman, have two little children of their own. Interestingly, the Today co-host became a mother for the very first time only after 40.

Savannah Guthrie's children are daughter Vale and son Charley, who are 5 and 2, respectively. The mum-of-two believes the best thing she can do for her kids is to be the best version of herself, and that's her biggest priority now.

Savannah Guthrie's news

Today co-host is currently trying to return her vision in the right eye after a freaking scary accident that tore her retina. Savannah Guthrie took to social media to address her absence at the show, revealing that she suffered an eye injury while playing with baby son Charley.

Charley threw a toy train right at my eye, and it tore my retina. It has a really pointing edge, and he threw it right at me.

The 47-year-old added such an accident left her temporary blind in her right eye. Although the docs were afraid her retina would detach, they only suggested her to "take it easy" as they have been doing "a bunch of laser procedures" instead of the surgery.

I really did lose my vision in my right eye. It was so blurry from — not to get too gross — but there was so much blood in my eye that it completely blocked my vision.

Savannah Guthrie concluded she's optimistic about her eye and hopes to get well very soon.

I’m not supposed to jump up and down because it’s kind of literally hanging by a thread. But I’m very positive because I think it's going to be okay.

Oh my gosh! Wishing you a full recovery ❤️

Savannah Guthrie cares for her children so much and doesn't want to scare her two-year-old son, as he didn't understand what he'd done. Nonetheless, we also hope she'll get well very, very soon!
