Ken Jeong’s wife cancer

The couple tied the knot in 2004 and has been living in perfect harmony ever since. However, the two had to face a very difficult battle.

Ken Jeong’s wife, Tran, was diagnosed with breast cancer back in 2008 but the couple went through all the ups and downs together.

She wasn’t alone in her battle, because the actor was fighting with her. He showed immense love and support, helping in every he could.

The cancer battle

The comedian is getting candid about how he helped his wife in her battle with cancer. Ken got the opportunity to play the role of Mr. Chow in The Hangover when his wife was in the middle of chemotherapy treatments.

At that time, he almost turned it down the role because he wanted to be there to support her. Fortunately for him, the movie role became the best therapy for him to channel his anger at his wife’s cancer diagnosis.

Speaking to ABC News with his wife in an interview, he said:

Playing Mr. Chow was therapeutic for me. I’m Korean and I would adlib Vietnamese in the movie. They are just these tiny things between me and Tran. I would speak a bit of Vietnamese phrases just to make Tran laugh. It’s just like the weirdest love letter to your wife.

Raising awareness

Ever since his wife’s battle with cancer, Ken raises awareness during breast cancer awareness month. The Crazy Rich Asians star said he talks about the importance of screenings by going to hospitals.

The actor’s wife did not have to face the cancer battle alone. Ken supported her in every he could.
