Semen cryopreservation has a long history of more than 65 years, and it gives people who lost their loved ones a chance to have a baby even after a person is gone to a better place. And this amazing woman decided not to lose such an incredible opportunity.
Now, such an innovative fertility preservation method is used worldwide for women due to medical and social reasons.
Houston woman’s story
The brave woman from Houston, Larissa Fletcher, gave birth to the second child with her husband more than a year after he passed away from cancer.
She lost her loving and devoted husband, John, back in 2016, when he lost his battle with cancer. Larissa, who is a pediatrician at Texas Children’s Hospital, said she always wanted to have more kids because she loves babies a lot.
The week before her husband started his chemotherapy treatment, he froze his semen, and that decision gave Larissa an opportunity to have a baby even after the husband was gone forever.
Isn’t it a miracle?
Larissa gave birth to a wonderful baby, whom she named Eliana Joy. Now, she is a happy mom of two kids, and she will remember her husband forever.
Nowadays, more and more people use this method to honor their loved ones. And it's wonderful that even after losing a close person, one can still preserve their memory, and even have kids!
