Nobody is perfect, and everyone's got their own peculiarities. Sometimes, it is very hard to accept the way we look, and the road to the goal can be really hard. But this woman managed to overcome all difficulties in the process of self-acceptance in order to help her son with the same disorder.
The 25-years-old Vanessa Cornelio is suffering from several medical conditions, which resulted in multiple tumors all over the body, and seriously curved her spine.
The woman was born with a rare genetic disorder, neurofibromatosis. As reported by the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke, it is a group of three genetically distinct disorders that cause tumors to grow in the nervous system. They are classified as neurofibromatosis type 1, neurofibromatosis type 2, and schwannomatosis.
As a result of the disorder, tumors started to grow on nerve tissue. Besides, Vanessa Cornelio was diagnosed with scoliosis, which severely curved her spine, and kyphosis, which caused woman’s backbone to bend outwards.
But despite everything, Vanessa managed to accept the way she looks. She did it because of the 2-year-old son, who inherited her disorder.
She decided to become a role model for her son and to show that it is important to accept your outlook and to love the appearance in the mirror. Vanessa said:
I don't want my son to see his mother depressed. I don't want him to see me not doing anything because of what I have.
By the way, after the birth of her son, Vanessa started her own YouTube channel with the purpose is to help those people who suffer inside and to help them struggle with emotions.
Vanessa is an inspiring and strong woman, who managed to save not only her son, but also help all the people, who are still on their way to self-acceptance.
