Florida Dad Is Furious After He Had To Change His Son's Diaper In The Men's Bathroom In Extremely Uncomfortable Conditions

We live in the age of gender equality. Unfortunately, we often forget that it should work both ways! One Florida dad who found himself in a very inconvenient situation is trying to change that.

Donte Palmer is a proud father of three boys. He and his wife were at a restaurant with their children, when the youngest one needed a diaper change. Being a considerate dad, Donte took his son to the restroom to change his diaper. In the restroom, something was missing: there was no changing table.

The dad wasn’t surprised, as he’d become used to this inconvenience. He squatted down, laid his son on his lap, and changed his diaper. Donte’s eldest son was there to help and snapped a picture.
Donte shared the picture on Instagram to bring this changing table issue to light. As the dad wrote in his post, this was not the first time when he had to deal with such a situation.

He told Yahoo! Lifestyle:

Many fathers are present caretakers but either we don’t get recognition or get too much credit for doing basic tasks. Why should I have to lay my son across my legs? That’s not cool.

Clearly, Donte isn’t the first and only dad who’s had to deal with the lack of changing tables in men’s restrooms. Earlier this year, a dad named Chris Boneyard Mau had a similar experience with his baby daughter. He took to Facebook to vent, and his post resonated with thousands of other parents!

These two dads and other men who have had to deal with a similar issue are absolutely right to demand to put changing tables in men’s restrooms in public places, such as cafés and restaurants. Taking care of a baby’s needs isn’t only the mom’s job, and it’s about time we as a society recognized that!
