Photos Of A Baby Lying On A Bathroom Floor Are Causing A Huge Controversy. Her Dad Says He Didn't Have A Choice

It’s a tough job to be a parent: tolerating screams and noises, feeding your little baby, etc. Among many things a good parent should do is changing diapers, and it doesn’t matter if you are a father or a mother. However, it matters if you are a male, as apparently, men’s rooms are not suitable for changing your baby’s diaper. One frustrated father decided to bring the problem to the world after he has found himself in such a difficult and irritating situation.
Chris Mau, 33, is a father of 4, where the youngest one, Kali, is only 8-month-old. His post about what seems to be a trivial issue has quickly become viral. Changing diapers in a public restroom is not the most pleasant activity. Yet, when you’re out, and things get dirty, the bathroom seems to be the only reasonable option (especially if you happened to be a mom).
However, if you are a good father, like Chris, and want to clean your baby yourself, you’ll be surprised to learn that there are no changing tables in most public men’s restrooms.
As I entered the wash room, I noticed the two sinks crammed in the small counter space and a urinal across from them, and then behind another door was the toilet. I took my daughter out of her seat and grabbed the diaper bag and entered the stall, only to find nowhere to change my daughter.
The two options came into the father’s mind: to change the diaper on the floor and ease her discomfort or make crying Kali wait for much longer until he finds a better place. Although the conditions were not sanitary, to say the least, the man grabbed the towel, laid it out on the floor, and completed the change. The father recalls his thoughts:
I felt like they honestly don’t think a father is responsible for diaper changing or whatnot. I told my fiancée who was infuriated by the restaurant’s ignorance to a major part of having children, and made a quick but clear complaint on our way out. I’m getting pretty sick of having to change my daughter on a disgusting floor because the only changing table in the place is located in the women’s bathroom.
People are frustrated
That didn’t calm the man down, though, so he decided to write a post about this situation. A lot of parents supported it and shared their own frustrations:
There are many inconveniences in a life of a parent, but some of them should be eliminated. If there are changing tables in many women’s restrooms, why are they absent in the men’s? They should be everywhere!
