Some people are fortunate enough to have amazing and supportive in-laws, while others have to deal with in-law drama on a daily basis. We have to wonder how far is too far?
One woman is extremely upset after she realized that her husband and his mother had connived to change her son's middle name while she was recovering from a C-section. And neither of them saw the need to tell her.

While sharing her story with Slate’s parenting advice column, Care and Feeding, a woman who referred to herself as 'Mama Bear' said that it wasn't until two months after her child was born that she realized what had happened.
Apparently, while she was recovering from surgery after childbirth, her husband's mother guilt-tripped him into changing the child's middle name from 'Finley', which the couple had previously agreed on, to 'Finlay.'

In fact, the mother-in-law initially attempted to change the child's first name, but because Mama Bear's husband thought that would be a bit much, he compromised and agreed when his mother suggested they changed the middle name instead.
Evidently, the mother-in-law felt that 'Finlay' was more masculine than 'Finley'

While all this was happening, the mom had no idea. When her mother-in-law sent a Christmas gift and spelled out the boy's middle name as 'Finlay,' she asked her husband about it but, he pretended to be oblivious.
However, two months later, when the mom went looking for his Social Security card and birth certificate to file them away properly, she realized that her husband and his mother had changed the boy's name to 'Finlay' in all his legal documentation.

She confronted her husband again and he finally confessed but said he regretted what he did. Understandably, Mama Bear was very furious at both her husband and mother-in-law. She did reveal in her post that she and her husband are working through the betrayal together.

Clearly, both husband and mother-in-law crossed a line and we hope the family can sort out their problems. Who should take more blame in a situation like this?
