The wedding ceremony is an essential build-up to a marriage. It serves as an opportunity for the couple's family and friends to witness the exchange of marriage vows, and be a part of the exciting experience.

Also, the support from the guests creates a merrier atmosphere for the couple.

One uniqueness of wedding ceremony is that although there are standard practices, the couple still gets to customize theirs however they wish.

Hence, we can't fault this couple for switching it up and deciding to surprise their guests. How heartwarming!

Baby christening turned wedding ceremony

The couple, Laura Djamalis and Danny Roberts, had invited seventy unsuspecting guests for their seven-month-old daughter's christening.

Winter's baptism held at Our Lady and St Joseph's Parish in Heywood, and it was a success.

However, that was just the end of the beginning. Laura soon went out of the church and came in wearing a veil with the tune 'Here Comes The Bride' playing at her entrance.

The guests were indeed stunned, but ultimately happy for the couple judging by the cheers, claps, and tears of joy.

Laura was walked down the aisle by her dad, Mike Djamalis, who was in on the surprise.

Other people who knew about the agenda was Danny's uncle Potter, Laura's parents and sister, Nichola and her man, Luke.

There couldn't have been a better timing for the couple who had been engaged for almost two years.

Fortunately, the church agreed to the plan, and everything was set in motion six weeks before the ceremony.

Laura told Manchester News they didn't want to steal the show of their daughter's christening. She said:

"We wanted to make a quick gesture of our love and commitment. I'm so happy to marry Danny, he's like my best friend. We pulled it off."

Gladly, they achieved that. Father Michael Deas from the church said:

"People were so emotional and shocked, it was just beautiful. It was great to be a part of it. Winter was still the special one on the day."
