Chrissy Teigen Delivers Powerful Speech At "Families Belong Together" While Carrying Her Baby
A month ago, Chrissy Tiegen and John Legend became the proud parents of a baby boy. He joins big sister Luna, who is now 2 years old, and his name is Miles Theodore Stephens. The new addition to the family balances out the equation as proud dad John now has a buddy.
The cute bundle of joy was also warmly welcomed by fans of the couple on social media. Chrissy posts regular updates of her and the baby on her Instagram account. Right now, she has her hands full taking care of the children but still finds time for Netflix. Who wouldn’t?
Yesterday, she stepped out of the house with the family to attend the Families Belong Together event in Los Angeles. The rally was in support of the thousands of immigrants whose families are being torn apart by policies of the current Trump administration.
“Making America great doesn’t mean building walls to keep people out. It means continuing to embrace the dreams of immigrants who add to our culture, our economy, and our humanity.”- @chrissyteigen ♥️— AmyPoehlerSmartGirls (@smrtgrls) July 1, 2018

Chrissy took to the podium during the event and made a powerful speech, expressing her position on immigration and showing support for immigrants. And one particularly striking thins about her speech was that she did not make it alone. Chrissy had little Miles strapped to her chest the entire time.
America at its best is big, beautiful and diverse like our great city of Los Angeles. It’s not small, it’s not petty and not exclusive like Mar a Lago?
Chrissy did not hold back from poking some fun at President Trump. Still, she had a powerful message to all Americans:
Immigrants don’t come here to take from us. They add to what makes America special.
Her message is resonating on social media, and many people who have seen clips of the speech feel like it is a big step in the right direction.

Some Americans, however, still believe that the solution to the US immigration problem is sending immigrants back to their countries.

More Americans are lending their voices to the call for better treatment of immigrants. Celebrities like Chrissy Tiegen and John Legend dedicate their time and resources to causes that ensure immigrants are treated fairly and get the opportunity to live and work safely in America.
Chrissy I have to say that I don't normally care about celebrity marriages but you & John are great people. Your energy and his level headed calmness, along with your genuine love for people is Amazing.— D Smoooth Rich (@RichSmoooth) July 1, 2018
I hope you guys stay together forever. God bless

In the face of mounting resistance from President Trump, there is still some hope that the American government will revise its policies on immigration, especially with regard to families and children.
