Date June 27, 2018 11:26

When it comes to royals going on a summer vacation, you’d think they will be surrounded by luxury on a glamorous yacht or relaxing on a private island. However, the British royal family is more low-key and down-to-earth in this respect as they often opt for staycations or choose European popular places.

Of course, their holidays are far more grandiose than those the rest of us have, but they often choose places where many could go. Let’s take a look at where our favorite couples go for a summer break.

It seems that Her Majesty has a little tradition, as every summer the monarch heads to the Scottish Highlands to have some relaxing time at Balmoral Castle.

The rest of the royal family often joins the Queen for some quality time together. It was previously said that the monarch feels “the most happy there.” If you want to see the Queen’s favorite place to unwind, Balmoral Castle is open to the public for the rest of the year.

This will be the Duke and the Duchess of Sussex first summer holiday together as a married couple. But their schedule is so filled with the royal tours in the upcoming months, they might opt for a staycation or visit the Queen in Balmoral.

That said, Meghan is known for her love to travel, often having getaways with friends in Positano, Madrid, Ibiza, and Greece. And with her birthday in August, the newlyweds might want to mark the occasion by going somewhere glamorous.

Prince Charles and Camilla have chosen a stunning Kerasia region in Corfu for their summer vacation. It has been reported that the royal duo likes to stay at the luxurious Rothschild Villa, placed 40km northeast of Corfu Town.

How about the young royals Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice? The two sisters love to party so there is no surprise that Ibiza is their go-to place. The princesses also enjoy city breaks in Europe.

However, just like other royals, Eugenie and Beatrice like to visit their granny at Balmoral as well. Where do you prefer to spend your summer vacation?
