Intolerable Cruelty: Daycare Owner Nataliia Karia Sentenced To Probation After Trying To Hang Toddler
There’s nothing worse than killing a child, but sometimes, people do things that are hard to understand.
The owner of a daycare, Nataliia Karia, has been sentenced to probation after trying to hang a toddler. That’s appalling, and it’s even hard to imagine anything like this could happen. The 43-year-old woman was trying to kill the toddler in her home. Luckily, the 16-months-old kid survived.
Here's a video from the court:
The woman is said to have a bunch of mental problems that caused such a behavior. Now, Karia is undergoing special care and treatment so that she doesn’t pose any further threat to the public.
In court, she tried to apologize for what she’s done saying the following through a Russian speaking interpreter:
I apologize and I don't know if you will be able to forgive me. I have no excuse for what I did.
The woman remains under everyday watch.
The toddler has received due care at the pediatric intensive care unit at HCMC and was “doing fine,” according to Assistant Police Chief Kris Arneson.
Here are some comments from people who read the story.
Of course she got probation. Let it been someone of color, that 10 would’ve turned into 100 and instead of probation, it would’ve been years! Gotta love our justice system 🙃— Tee Tee (@BaNaNaCoCaInE) July 17, 2018

10 years probation???? Why not 10 years prisoner?— Frank Jackson Jr (@realFrank1JJ) July 18, 2018
People were shocked to read it, and they can’t find an explanation for that’s happened. And how do you think, how should the woman be punished?
