The happy mom rushed to Instagram and Facebook to share the first snap of how she cuddles the girl lovingly.
The 37-year-old politician thanked all her fans for their kind words and best wishes. But there’s one more person Ardem wanted to express gratitude to.
The prime minister took to social media platforms to share one more cute picture, as she spent another night at the hospital. This time, it featured Jacinda, her newborn daughter, and Ardern’s ‘wonderful’ midwife:
Not only is she incredible at what she does, this morning she made me macaroni and cheese because she heard me mention a wee craving yesterday. Thank you so much for everything Libby!
The post was met with excitement in New Zealand, as people showered their prime minister with congratulations and thanked her for acknowledging the hard work and support of her midwife.
Here are just a few of the sweet comments shared:
Ardern is not only New Zealand's youngest prime minister, she’s also the second world leader to give birth to a baby while in office. Congratulations to the happy parents!
