Dad Takes Late Son’s Girlfriend To The Prom After Teen Dies In Car Crash

The 18-year-old Kaylee Suders and 19-year-old Carter Brown were high school sweethearts. They dreamed about their future together, wedding, kids, spending the rest of their lives in each other’s arms. Their most immediate plan was to go to prom together and have a fun night dancing.

But none of those plans came to fruition. Sadly, Carter died in a car crash just one month before the prom.

Robert Brown knew his son would have wanted his girlfriend of more than a year to attend the prom, so Robert decided to fulfill his wish.

Carter was driving home from the university to surprise Suders when his car crossed into the opposite lane and was struck head-on. The teen was pronounced dead at the scene.

Robert comments:

My son was a sweet, caring kid, and Kaylee is very sweet, too, and she is a part of our family. When the passing topic of prom came up, I kept thinking my son would want her to go. That prompted me to get the ball rolling.

Kaylee didn’t think for long and said ‘yes’. The pair celebrated the special occasion by having dinner at the same place where Carter and Kaylee had their first date.

The whole experience shows that, despite the tragic event, Suders is still the part of the Browns family.
