What Are The Downsides Of Parents Being Affectionate To Each Other In Front Of Their Children?
It’s natural for human beings to display their emotions. However, the way they do it might affect others. When it comes to the issue about pros and cons of showing affection at schools, people are divided into 2 camps.
An online poll shows more than 70% of people do not want PDA to be banned at schools. What is more, one of those polled wrote:
Kissing, holding hands, hugging within reason should be allowed!
But when it comes to analyzing kids’ behavior at schools, it’s more than clear their parents have a lot to do with it. In fact, the way parents display their affection for each other in front of their kids decides how they will behave in the future.

When speaking about the norms, everything should be fair enough. K. Michelle Tapia, MA, LMFT says:
Parents should show non-sexual affection in front of their children because parents teach their children how to behave both in what they say and, more importantly, what they do. All children could benefit from seeing their parents treat one another in safe and loving ways.

Healthy PDA is as important for kids as air or water. That’s the way they learn how to love, and there is nothing bad in it. However, parents never should forget about the norms.

And even babies understand everything, and parents showing affection to each other shouldn’t become a reason for the little one to worry. Just look at this cutie in the video. Little Ella is a bit jealous seeing her parents kiss each other. However, when they both turn to her, the baby girl seems to be happy.
All in all, it’s worth remembering our behavior influences they way our kids perceive the world. And parents showing reasonable affection for each other is always a good idea.
