Pediatrician Exposes The Hidden Stories Of Trauma Experienced By The Separated Immigrant Children She Has Treated
For months, Donald Trump’s Immigration policy has been on the radar for its inhuman separation of children from their illegal immigrant parents.
Another disturbing separation story
Although, Trump has since discontinued the separation, disturbing stories of the experiences of the children have continued to resurface.
And, one doctor, Tara Neubrand, a pediatric emergency medicine physician, has taken to Facebook to share them as well.
A teenage boy speaks up
According to her, while working with children whose parents had been detained by the Immigrations and Customs Enforcement agency, ICE, she noticed this:
Their trauma, and the direct effect it was having on their development, was obvious.
Another 16-year-old boy, Sergio, who was separated from his father, also told his concerns when he spoke to NBC News.
He said, "The way I have been treated makes me feel like I don’t matter, like I am trash.”
Trump admin silent on trauma
While the Trump administration has not addressed any of these heartbreaking claims, some Americans continue to direct their outrage at ICE because the agency has become the face of Trump's immigration hunt.
And they are not alone, even ICE officials believe that the agency is no longer doing what it was set up to do in 2003. They want it to be abolished as well. What do you think?
