The moment was captured by a driver who was in the car behind the vehicle in question. Fortunately, the driver reacted quickly and immediately stopped, preventing the child from harm.

The little boy was in the car with his grandfather, Yang Defu, who was in the driver’s seat. Defu had no idea what happened and continued to drive without stopping.

The video shows the young boy, who appears to be around 2 years old, falling out of the booth onto the middle of the road. He rolled on the floor, got up and ran after the vehicle that was driving away without him.

The shocked child stopped running and stood on the road, not knowing what to do. One of the passengers, sitting in the car that was riding behind, got out of the vehicle, picked him up and returned to his granddad. Luckily, the child didn’t have any injuries. According to People’s Daily, child safety seats are quite rare in China.

This is not the first time terrifying thing like that happened

Similar accident recently happened in Virginia. A woman was about to turn when the door of her van opened and a child fell out on the road. According to police, the child was unrestrained.

Bystanders saw what happened and immediately called to 911. The woman, who was driving the vehicle, was charged with child neglect.

How to protect kids in the car?

Babies up to 6 months of age must travel in a rearward-facing child restraint. Always check if the harness is adjusted correctly so that it fits the baby.

For toddlers from 6 months to four years, use a rearward-facing child restraint or forward-facing child restraint, which should be held in place by the adult seatbelt and the top tether strap. The seatbelt should always be firm and the straps shouldn’t be twisted.

Children from four to seven years should be placed in forward-facing restraint or booster seat until they have outgrown them.
