Midwife Mother Delivers Her Own Baby Via C-Section: “I Pulled My Own Baby Out!”

Nowadays, there are so many ways to bring a child into this world. The most old-fashioned way is considered to be home birth. For healthy women with full-term and low-risk pregnancies, this option is as safe as a hospital delivery.

Nonetheless, you have to keep in mind that in potentially dangerous situations, there will be no medical staff or equipment around. Hospitals offer a variety of different choices from natural birth to drug-infused one.

There is also a C-Section option. But we don’t really hear about moms delivering their own babies. However, these things happen.

A special birth

A mother from Kentucky wanted to make the birth of her third child a moment she will never forget. The 34-year-old midwife, Emily Dial, wished to welcome her baby in an extra special way and she certainly did.

Dial, who was expected to give birth via C-section, says she knew early on that she wanted to deliver her own baby. So when the time arrived, she welcomed her daughter, Emma Kaye, by pulling the little one out of her stomach.

Dial comments:

It was a perfect moment. It was probably one of the most perfect moments of my life. I was in shock and awe. I really wasn’t thinking about my belly being wide open. I was just like, ‘Oh my God! This really is a girl.’

The excited mother made sure that the delivery conditions were sterile. She was scrubbed and wore gloves for the whole time of the birth. Emily didn’t even kiss her baby girl immediately after she was born to “maintain sterile technique.”

People reacted on social media

Dial already has two children, who were also born via C-Section. But she says it will be hard to top the third delivery.

I pulled my own baby out! It’s gonna be really difficult in the future to top that moment.

It’s hard to argue with that! What do you think about this crazy (or amazing) way of delivering a baby?
