Nowadays, the transgender agenda is a current and complicated issue in the worldwide community. Especially, when it comes to the discussion of a child transitioning to the person of opposite sex. There are lots of opinions regarding this matter, and new cases bring them all up from time to time.

Nevertheless, this question is rather relevant and needs our attention, as more and more teens today are facing obstacles and challenges while trying to get more information about transgenders.

Young transgenders in statistics

As reported by The Williams Institute at the UCLA School of Law, around 0.7 % of youths in the United States aged 13 to 17, which is around 150,000, identify themselves as transgenders. The majority of such cases are observed in California, Texas, New York, and Florida. The smallest populations are found in North Dakota, Vermont, and Wyoming.

Texas library case

Recently, it was reported that millions of Texas kids are exposed to transgender sex ed content without parental notice or consent in public school libraries.

According to the latest report, school and kindergarten students have an access to the shocking content in the Fort Worth ISD libraries, including the transgender sex ed. kindergarten without parental notice or consent.

Parents are furious and demand an immediate explanation: who gave a permission for such controversial content? Isn’t it too early for kids to know about the possibility of the gender transition? Can it be considered as a propaganda? Who will be responsible for the consequences?

Unfortunately, there are no right answers to almost all abovelisted questions.

More than one million Texas kids are educated in that school district, so the effect of such literature can be tremendous.

How to react?

But what to do if you have become a parent of a transgender child? A lot of people might feel confusion and doubt, and eventually, end up grieving for their daughter or son.

As we have already mentioned, this topic is very hard for our society, and it is impossible to identify the right answer. Some social activists, who stand for human rights, stand against child transition. They claim that it is too early for them to decide what gender they associate themselves with, and that it is better to wait until the person can fully be responsible for their decisions.

Other people claim that it is necessary to be very careful with such kids. They are very sensitive, and we should pay extra attention to the way we talk with them. According to the Working Mother, it is important to be careful and spend more time with children:

  1. Don’t misgender or “dead-name” your child
  2. Help your child develop coping mechanisms.
  3. Assess the school situation.
  4. Don’t out your child.
  5. Unconditional love is most important.

In any case, it is highly recommended to consult a psychologist to identify the inner reasons for such behavior. True professionals may provide your kids with the necessary help and treatment.

Also, please remember that yelling at a child will not make the situation better.

This topic remains to be rather difficult for our society, and there are still lots of questions that nobody can answer. Of course, people can do what they want with their own bodies, but there are no specific guidelines as to whether a kid should do it, and when.

What do you think about it?
