A quick question: How would you act if you were afraid of own children?

Dr. Phil examined the story of a family, in which brothers Jonas and Tristan behave horribly towards their parents, Xavier and Melissa.

The boys' father claimed that he is frightened of his sons since they break and smash doors, smoke pot on a daily basis, curse and shout all along.

I have one bat that I keep very close to the door, and then I have another bat right next to my bedroom.

In the same lieu, the mother acknowledged that she tended to spoil Jonas and Tristan after her divorce from Xavier. Now, both brothers live with an 'old man', who constantly locks himself in.

I feel like a prisoner in my own home.

Father's fault or the brothers' madness?

Ironically, Xavier blames his sons for being dangerous, whereas the brothers "give him chances" to know how to deal with them.

Dr. Phil, shocked, asked Jonas about the point of his words, and the latter answered:

He's written the whole book about this (about success and happiness), so he should know how to deal with every situation with his kids.

However, the third brother in the family, a 17-year-old teenager who lives with their mom, spoke in defense of Xavier and pointed out that Jonas and Tristan teamed up to shrivel their dad's life. Yet, the youth seems to be mentally hurt.

As for Xavier, he argues that the core meaning of the situation is the following:

They are drowning, and they are dragging me with them.

However, Dr. Phil displayed empathy towards Jonas and Tristan, despite their parents' claims. Xavier and Melissa simply gave up on their well-being referring to them as "dangerous" and neglected their sons, who turned to indolent lifestyle and drug abuse.

If what you're doing is helping, please, stop. Because you are sabotaging here.

According to a psychologist who conducted the analysis of the case, parents are the ones responsible for their children's attitude and way of life. This is due to the turbulent on-and-off relationships between Xavier and Melissa, which has eventually traumatized the boys and damaged their mental health.

They're on emotional roller coaster here.

Dr. Phil also concluded that the brothers have a choice between two options: Continue living in the drug-fueled 'psych ward' or get their lives together.

Parents, please, pay close attention to your actionы, words, and attitudes. Believe it or not, but it has a negative impact on kids and their behavior, especially in the adolescence. As for Xavier and Melissa, they were unfortunate to face the consequences of neglecting their own sons.
