Throughout life, it’s always fun to have someone who cheers you on, protects you, spends time with you, and would do almost anything for you. Sometimes we get along. Other times they drive us bonkers, but overall (most of the time) we love our brothers and sisters. While there are many reasons why having a sibling is cool, sometimes it can be even priceless.

Lyla Morgan, 11, is one young girl who demonstrates that paying attention to your family can save a life.
Lyla miraculously revived her 7-week-old baby sister after the infant stopped breathing.
A video was posted to the Unity Point Health – Waterloo Facebook page that shared this amazing story.
The girls' mom Amanda Paigly, who was not at home during the time of the incident, explained in the clip,
“I was at work and about an hour after I had left from lunch the baby had stopped breathing.”
Lyla, however, saved her baby sister by blowing “a puff of air in her mouth”. The girl then proceeded to call 911.
When paramedics arrived on the scene and found the baby to be somewhat unresponsive. First responders treated the baby and she was soon breathing on her own.
“I’m super proud of her,”
- said Lyla’s mother.
“I’m just really proud. I’m just really blessed with having such a great child.”
Paramedics also praised Lyla for her efforts, saying the actions were “impressive” for her age and saved her sister's life!

- Teaching your child to dial 911 is relatively simple to do and something that will stay with them for a lifetime.
- Likewise, to prepare your child to deal with an emergency situation teach first aid basics.
- Keep a basic first-aid kit in a central spot and make sure your child knows where it is.
All in all, keep yourself and your family safe!
