Good Samaritan: Young Man Pushed Woman All The Way Home After Her Electric Wheelchair Gave Out

Date August 23, 2018 17:13

Did you know that 50% of adults in the US over 65 years old are living with a disability? They require help and often can't even rely on the state-of-the-art technology, designed to make their lives easier. Luckily, there are many wonderful people, who won't think twice before rushing to offer a help to someone in need.

Saved by a generous stranger

One day, Bilal Quintyne started off his morning like any other: he went for a jog before heading to gym, just as he does most of the days. On his usual route, 24-year-old man noticed a woman stuck on the side of the main rode. Her electric wheelchair seemed out of juice, and she couldn't move.

Quintyne immediately headed to woman to see if there's anything he could do for her. Bilal told Yahoo Lifestyle:

She asked if I could call for help and I said, ‘I’m in a good shape. Where is your house? I’ll take you myself.'

Fortunately, the young man was very physically capable, so he didn't need anyone else's help to get the woman in need home. His friends filmed Quintyne pushing the wheelchair, and the news of his generous spirit blew up on Facebook.

But Quintyne didn't do it for praise. Once he took the woman home, he found out she left her house to go to the supermarket, so he offered to get some groceries for her. According to Bilal, she started crying, but refused further help. She was touched enough as many people drove past her, but no one stopped to help, before he found her.

Quintyne humbly said:

I was doing my job as a man. There’s so much hatred in the world, and it costs nothing to love someone. My only goal in sharing this is to restore the values we’ve lost as people.

Supportive reactions from social media

We can all learn from Quintyne's act of kindness. Don't look away when you see someone struggling, and offer help. Even one good deed can make a lot of difference in our world.
