It is not a secret that women’s self-esteem greatly depends on the idealized images on fashion magazines. Many women try to do everything possible to look like models.

The report of the Social Issues Research Center says:

The current media ideal of thinness for women is achievable by less than 5 percent of the female population.

Missguided decided to ruin the stereotypes and launched a #InYourOwnSkin campaign. In the official press release it is stated the brand aims to celebrate "what the industry perceives as 'flaws' or imperfections".

Beautiful photos show six women who have albinism, burn marks, skin conditions like Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB) and psoriasis, freckles etc.

Six women, six stories, and six different personalities. None of them looks like a fashion model, but each of them is unique in their own way.

The campaign teaches women to love themselves no matter what. In the press release it is written that:

These women own it. They have attitude. They are proud of who they are. They inspire confidence. They want you to love your body (it's the only one you've got!).

These women inspire others not to be embarrassed by their imperfections and love the way they look.
