Mandy appeared on the America's Got Talent show in 2017 and took the 4th place. In the interview with CNN, Mandy talked about her life, career, health, and many other things.

She says the music gives her an opportunity to relax and enjoy every minute:

The thing I love about music ... you can close your eyes and be transported back to a memory or a dream or a feeling.

Since the early childhood, Mandy was connected with the music. Singing helped cope with various life problems:

I was always a shy child and slightly hard of hearing, so music was my outlet. I started singing in a choir when I was 4 years old.

Mandy was born with the deformed eustachian tubes, a connective tissue disorder called Ehlers-Danlos syndrome type 3. The health problems didn’t change her desire to become a successful singer. Moreover, now, Mandy can even make jokes about it:

I think performing has become a lot easier without being able to hear because I can't judge myself. There's always that voice in your head that is so critical, and for me, it was crippling. Now that voice is gone.

She claims it was indeed an incredible opportunity to participate in the show:

Getting the golden buzzer (which means you skip the judges' rounds) from Simon Cowell meant the most because it wasn't that he was paying attention to my story. He was paying attention to the music.

Despite having major hearing problems, Mandy Harvey never gave up. She proved that it is possible to achieve everything, even when people don’t believe in you. Mandy is truly inspiring!
