Skinny Girl Thought She Was The Most Desired At The Ball But Fatty Lady Showed Who Is The Queen Of The Dancefloor

There are many stereotypes surrounding weight. Plump people can’t be models, they are not allowed on the dance floor and they are shooed away from the yoga mat. The dance industry only accepts humans in a certain size, dismissing that our shapes and sizes don’t define our abilities.

Luckily, the modern world is starting to change and we see some little shifts in the perception of people with a few extra kilos. However, the dance industry needs to stop fetishizing thin, as plump ladies can dance no worse and even better than skinny ones. And this brilliant scene from ‘Get Smart” only proves it.

Dance like nobody’s watching

“Get Smart” is a staple for those who like spy films, having a laugh, and Steve Carell. It’s always a pleasure to watch Carell breathe life into his characters but this particular film has something quite unusual to watch.

The scene where he dances with a woman of size is particularly notable. In it, the actor, playing Maxwell Smart, asks an obese woman to dance. The audience expects to make fun of how clumsy she will be, but the unexpected twist is that she dances wonderfully.

It was handled with humor while never being mean. Carell and his brilliant dance partner, Lindsay Hollister, definitely should be proud of their work as it is inspiring to watch Steve throwing Lindsay in the air as she was made out of feathers.

Don’t judge a woman by her looks

This video shows English actress and comedian Katy Brand shaking her booty to the famous dance from the clip to Beyoncé’s ‘Single Ladies’ hit.

It simply demonstrates that we shouldn’t put labels on people as they can surprise us with their incredible abilities.
