Time’s up movement has been initiated because it’s high time to do something about all that. Various celebrities and regular people have gathered to battle with a problem most women face now.
Meryl Streep and Cher are one of those people who were for the movement and joined it immediately after it’s inception.
During the 'Late Late Show' with James Corden, Cher has shared a story about her and Meryl Streep from the 80s. Even back then they couldn’t stay indifferent to other women’s problems.
One day when they have been spending time together in an apartment, Streep decided she wanted some ice-cream. The women went out to buy it. Suddenly, they saw a man attacking a woman in torn clothes.
So we walk out and the first thing we see is some guy hitting cars with a brick, and then we walk down the street and we hear screaming. We come around the corner and this gigantic man is ripping the clothes off of this girl. Meryl starts screaming and I start screaming and we run towards this gigantic man and he turns and starts running towards us.
They made it and fought the attack! Two celebrities saved an innocent woman!
She looks at us and goes, 'Oh my God! I've just been saved by Meryl Streep and Cher! I'm an actress and I work in a cafe where we sing and all my friends are going to be so jealous!'
People on Twitter immediately called them ‘saints’! And that’s truly so! They risked their lives to save another person!
