Two Young Girls Lost Their Parents In The Horrific Limo Crash In Upstate NY, Now People Across The Country Have Rallied Around Them To Help
The deadliest transportation accident in almost a decade
On October 6, the nation was shaken by the news of the most horrific car crash in the U.S in almost a decade. Twenty people were killed when a limousine crashed into a car in a parking lot near a store in Schoharie, New York.
It has been reported that the limousine was heading to a birthday party when it crashed. 17 passengers of the limousine and the driver died. Two pedestrians who were in the parking lot were also killed, the police reported.
First responders and a National Transportation Safety Board team descended on the scene. The cause of the crash is being investigated.
The police have not officially released the names of those killed, but their family members and friends have spoken to the media. The New York Times reported that among those killed were four sisters and two newlywed couples.
How a tragedy can bring out the best in people
Several victims were couples with children (there were no children in the limo; all of them were left home). Two of the victims were identified as Abby and Adam Jackson. The couple had two young daughters, 4-year-old Archer and 16-month-old Elle.
A family friend set up a GoFundMe page to raise money to pay for the girls’ college tuition once they grow up and to help their family with other expenses.
The friend wrote:
Adam and Abby were amazing parents to these girls and taken much too soon. While families will step in and provide loving care for these girls, there will be expenses that we can help with during this time when we otherwise feel so helpless.
The initial goal was set at $75,000, but people across the country have donated more than $90,000 in a day! Many of them wrote sympathetic comments; here are some of them:
Prays for this family and these innocent baby girls...
My heart breaks for the the families impacted by this tragic loss of life. May Heavenly Father bless Archer and Elle and may he bring the families peace and comfort in this extremely difficult time.
I pray these 2 beautiful girls will have a loving cared for life and know how much their parents loved them! God Bless this Grandmother, Family and Friends as they will love and care for these girls!
Donations are still pouring in.
In times like these, people can show their very best side by helping those who need it most.
