Does shorter hair mean healthier hair

Choosing between keeping their hair healthy and keeping it as long as it was in their youth is something many women can relate to. Famous women like supermodel Cindy Crawford and actress Demi Moore have admitted to treating their signature long hairs differently as they got older.

Crawford, for instance, said she had to cut off a few inches to be kinder to her hair. Demi Moore has refused to cut hers, but she admitted to cutting down the blow dries and flat ironing.

Sometimes, bowing to the big chop is best

But hair experts insist that the length of a woman's hair does not make it easier to keep it healthy and bowing to the big chop is not the only way to achieve a flattering look for women above 50.

Just a few inches off her length and the right bob trim, Amy’s youth was restored.

Don't wait for a makeover, treat yourself

Still, looking as youthful as Amy is not rocket science and does not always require a trim.

All it takes is some easy-to-do steps:

  1. Exfoliate, moisturize and take your makeup off before bedtime.
  2. Use the right foundation, highlighter. Contouring is your friend, but don’t overdo the makeup. Natural is best.
  3. This is a hack: Make your eyes the center of attention and watch your face transform.

The morale of the story is simple: don’t wait for a makeover. Treat your skin daily!
