When people decide to create a family, they hope their partners would support them no matter what, in sickness and in health. This 87-years-old man proves that love can live forever. Instead of a calm retirement, he is looking for a job in order to pay for his wife’s treatment.
Robert Blocksom is searching for the opportunity to help his wife, Jelaine, fight cancer. He is returning to work in order to be able to pay expensive medical bills. He claims there is no other choice, as he wants his wife to be with him longer, and to live a happy and long life.
Robert wants to become a trucker and is starting the commercial driver’s classes soon.
He hopes to work during weekends so that he can continue taking care of his wife. The GoFundMe page was set up to help this couple raise money for the medical expenses.
His wife is deeply touched that her loving husband takes care of her. In the interview with the People, she said:
I would hope he wouldn’t have to do that, but he sees that as a way out. It’s difficult, sure, but it’s harder on him because he takes care of me and the house. All I can do is make his meals for him!
Unfortunately, not all people can cover the costs of cancer treatment, as it is extremely expensive.
